- I attended Bill Buckingham’s Memorial Ceremony which was held in Gloucester in October. The setting could not have been more beautiful. Many of the attendees created a fabulous mosaic on the beach using shells, plants, rocks seaweed and more. I brought a small wreath made from several cranberry plantings from a nearby bog. As a touching ceremony was underway on the grassy park overlooking the beach, the tide came in and slowly the little waves began lapping taking away some of the articles into the sea. Some remained on the beach as beach treasures for future beachcombers. There were tears; testimonies, singing and Amazing Sophie played “Amazing Grace” while we all placed a small rock circle around this container of ashes.
